If you have a smartphone and want to keep up to date with everything goin’ on in my life in an instant, I’ve become addicted to this thing called instagram. Get it.
I won’t be posting a lot of personal pictures on this blog, unless I absolutely have to (car shoots, meets, footage etc.) due to the fact it takes way to long to upload, but if you wanna keep up and see whats good,
Add me up @justanotherbluesbrother
On a somewhat impressive side note, I’ve come to realize I have over 10,000 photos that I’ve been ‘right clicking’ and ‘saving as’ over the years, so I’m going to start dumping the good shit here.
Might as well, right?

Friday May 11 01:55amI fucking wish.
The morning I was supposed to have the tires mounted was a cluster-fuck.
1. Trouble at the bank. What else is new.
2. I get to the shop, and the there tire balancer shits out, so now I’m left with a choice of whether or not to mount em and then come back or wait and do it all at once. I choose to leave.
3. I realize I probably made the wrong choice, instant regret. Luckily, I get a call and the balancer is repaired, so I get the tires mounted.
4. The cheapo Lexani tires fit like absolute horse dong, I HATE BALLOON TIRES, might as well be Federals they fit so fat, except Federals are better. Should have had a decent stretch, especially on a 10j, but instead they fit like 235/45 or 235/50’s on a 17. Not impressed. Figure I’ll just burn em off and get something smaller and better when I can afford it.
5. I realize my entire day has been shot to hell and I’m forced to tackle it all the next day.
6. The next day, I attempt to fit the wheels with the fatties. The fatties made it even harder. Ended up lowering the rear for some decent fitment, but the fronts are a toss up. I hate the fat sidewall, so ugly. I’ll have to make it work.
7. I go to start the car, battery is dead. Pain in the ass.
8. I start the car, and test the clutch as the car is running, feels good but BAM maaaaaaad noise from the throwout bearing/clutch release. Figure it was damaged during installation or was defective from the beginning. It’s either that or I blame alchemy. So now I have to pull the tranny again to investigate. Fucking AWESOME.
9. I’m still unemployed. Within these last couple of days, I had two calls which were less than awesome and incredibly awkward. Plus they could not have called at worse times. I swear they do it on purpose. They were dead end jobs anyways. Oh well. Sorta getting used to being poor and digging myself into an early grave of debt. Is it wrong I want to do something I somewhat enjoy?
10. Plus, was put on some crazy deadline at school, and ultimately had to pause my education. I have no idea what the fuck I’m doing with my life. Spring semester is already off to a less than stellar start. Meanwhile, my friends are graduating, getting awesome jobs that they love, and making incredible amounts of money.
It seems like everyone is making moves, and I’m stuck in neutral.
Friday May 11 01:41amToday’s weather was much better than yesterday’s.
I got to work on the car early, threw in some new transmission fluid and picked up some other minor stuff in order to get the car running.
Start it up, purr’s like a champ.
Push the clutch in, it starts making this awful noise, almost like a “numumumumumum”. I have to think that the throwout bearing that was supplied with my clutch is hooped in some way, shape or form. Maybe it was damaged during install?
No idea.
Seriously, such a buzz kill. I’m gonna have to pull the transmission AGAIN, which is not easy to do in a driveway with no lifts or anything, so you can imagine the hassle it was to do it the first time.
Regardless, I’m getting tires mounted on the new wheels tomorrow bright and early, and I’m dedicating the day to finalizing my suspension, fitting the wheels and everything. Might even paint my hatch and take care of some other misc. things.
If I feel up to it, I may start pulling the tranny again as well.
Ugh.
Monday May 7 12:17amSo my wheels showed up yesterday.
CRAZY fast shipping, couldn’t be more excited about that. Same day, called a friend of mine so he could hook-up some tires. Or hopefully hook up some tires.
Test fitted them on the car, front seems like it’ll be quite ‘easy’ to fit, however the rear sticks out like an inch and a half. Should be ‘interesting’ to say the least.
Needless to say, the car SHOULD be on the ground Monday. Alignment Tuesday or Wednesday.
However, before any of that could be possible, I have to finish up some minor adjustments while the car is still in the air. But, to my surprise, I woke up to snow.
Yea apparently it was supposed to rain for a good portion of the day, but since the temperature dropped, the rain turned into snow.
Yay.
Hopefully it stops soon, and tomorrow’s weather is better.
Saturday May 5 12:43pmIn my own opinion, the first post of a blog is the most important. It basically sets the tone for everything to follow, and if it’s done incorrectly, then it may as well not have been written at all.
It should be noted that this isn’t my first blog. My first blog was actually ‘justanotherbluesbrother.blogspot.com’, a personal car-lifestyle based blog way back around 2008-2009, which turned out to be much more popular than I thought it was. I couldn’t really see why it was so popular either, maybe it was because I actually wrote paragraphs instead of just posting pictures. But that was many years ago, and since then the blog itself was deleted and with it, all my memories and plans.
After that, I took a much deserved hiatus from blogging, which I regretted to a certain extent. I missed being able to keep track of what it was that I was thinking and doing, and being able to share that with my followers and friends. Most importantly, I guess it gave me something to do.
SIDE NOTE: I don’t mean to make it seem like blogging is super serious, it really isn’t, so don’t get it twisted. Blogging really is quite trivial. When you think about it, its just making your personal life public, much like every other form of social media. Some people like that. Some thrive on the idea of being able to put there thoughts down on paper, or in this case, a computer screen.
Throughout the years where I wasn’t blogging, I kept busy. For those of you that were not familiar with my past blog, I have a 91’ 240SX that I’ve been modifying, slowly. Keyword: SLOWLY. It’s my second 240SX, my first was destroyed via Mercedes 4 Door. When I deleted my last blog, my 240SX was being propelled with the stock KA24DE, it had a Silvia Q’s front end, Blue ADVAN SA3R wheels in WEAK sizes, it was ‘lowered’ (-only a fraction from stock)and had a full interior.
The next year, I found some BINGS* side skirts and a HICAS rear lip. I slammed the car, maxing it out on the Megan Coilovers, and sold the ADVANS (-good riddance). I then picked up a set of Gunmetal Rota Grids from Statusone Autoworks, and ‘gutted’ the interior. Still basically stock KA24DE. I drove around with it like that for a year or so.
At that time I was cruising around with a couple childhood friends and my brother. It was then that I started to think about blogging again, just because of the shit we’d do. So reckless, and so much fun. Was worth every broken part and every ticket. I figured if ever there was a time to share something, it was then. We had talks of finally getting a team started, and had a pretty stellar lineup at one point, but it wasn’t long before, one by one, they sold the cars. After the 2011 season, it was hard to consider us a team any longer, and we disbanded. Ever since, it’s been my brother Clayton and I holding it down in the 240SX and his 86’ Corolla.
Present Day.
I’m a student at SAIT Polytechnic, and am currently unemployed and have still found a way to modify the car. I may as well be an alchemist. But in all seriousness, I’m in major debt, but still, it’s kept me sane. The car is still stuck in winter mode, much to my dismay. Motor is still stock, but I’m in the process of building a turbo motor. I’ve since sold the Grids, picked up a GTR grille(-has a weird Pineapple Logo on it?) and a K’s Aero front bumper, installed a new SPEC Stage 3 Clutch and ISIS Short Shifter (-my old clutch was infamous for being possibly the worst clutch in existence)and installed a new, non-bondo-fucked hatch. As much as I hate to admit it, my brother Clayton is much farther ahead than I am, and his 86’ Rolla is on a totally different level (-Equip 03’s & XR4’s, Buddyclub Spec 2, Tomei 2 Way, Trueno Bumpers etc). Regardless, my plans include fitting my new wheels, removing some collars on the coilovers, finally building/swapping in my turbo motor, upgrading from a VLSD to a 2 Way, and putting in a cage.
Aside from that, this blog will serve a purpose much like the one before it, a space to dump and organize all my thoughts and idea’s. 2012 is going to be a big year. Stay tuned for the new team blog, I’ll be sure to link it when it debuts
